Job Title: Laboratory Technician, N0836-A

Description:
 

A full time Laboratory Technician position in the Preclinical Division at XOMA (US) LLC.  The incumbent will be responsible for routine laboratory support, monitoring equipment and organizing repairs, ordering reagents, stocking, organizing, and receiving lab supplies.  Perform the washing and sterilization of glassware.  Prepare culture media and other reagents.  Perform the duties of laboratory Safety Officer and collaborate with EH&S department to implement XOMA's policies and regulations.  Incumbent will support a ~40 people department; he/she might assist few laboratory personnel with routine assays.  Excellent attention to details and proven organizational and communication skills are a must. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Some experience working in the biomedical research field is required.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written, oral and comprehension).
• Basic computer skills to use for maintaining inventory lists, writing reports, navigating the web and communicating with customers.
• Incumbent should be able to do routine work, lift 30 lb, ability to operate instruments (including autoclave) and ability to stand for long periods.

Job Requirements:
Education and/or experience:

• 2 years related experience and/or training with a high school diploma.
• 0-1 years related experience with a Bachelor of Science
