Job Title: PD Scientists I I – Fermentation, E0781-R

Description:
The job will focus on fermentation development for new and existing products. The candidate will be responsible for the identification of critical process parameters using statistical and empirical approaches. The candidates must be well-versed in fermentor/bioreactor design, fermentation, cell culturing processes and on and off-line analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop scale-able fermentation and cell culturing processes for therapeutic proteins, including antibodies from E. Coli and mammalian expression systems.
• Design, investigate, and execute experiments to explore all aspects of media optimization and product recovery from process streams.
• Write developmental reports.
• Participate in writing CMC sections for IND/BLA submissions.
• Direct and motivate a team of two or more process development associates and specialists in their projects.

Job Requirements:
 

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) with 5 years relevant experience , Ms/BS in Biochemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering, or related field with >8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working experience in developing teams, supervising and motivating others.
• In depth experience in developing teams, supervising and motivating others.
• Knowledge of bioreactors and fermentors hardware and controllers in intermediate to commercial scale (100-10,000L) will be advantageous.
• Should have practical experience and in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories in media optimization and nutirnets role in fed batch fermentation.
• Knowledge in the field of microbial and cellular physiology.
• Knowledge on harvest technologies such TFF, and centrifugation will be a plus.
• Should possess knowledge of cGMPs and process validation requirements.
