Department: Project & Alliance Mgmt, Proprietary Pipeline Business Unit
Job Title: Manager, Project and Alliance Management, E0858-A
Description:
As a member of the Project and Alliance Management Group, the Manager will provide support to key biopharmaceutical research and development projects within the Proprietary Pipeline Business Unit. Will work closely with Proprietary Pipeline Business Unit management, project leaders and teams to develop, implement and monitor project plans to ensure key milestones and deliverables are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist in the development and mobilization of high quality, integrated cross-functional and inter-company project strategies, plans, and budgets.
- Assist in driving the project team to achieve project objectives and milestones according to approved timelines.
- Work with Business Unit management, project leaders and teams to:
- Develop and/or update Target Product Profiles, Probability of Technical Success estimates, Go/No Go criteria, critical path activities, SMART objectives, milestones, resource requirements, risk assessment/scenario planning, project timelines, and budgets.
- Prepare and/or update project documentation.
- Monitor progress against objectives, milestones, timelines and budget, generate regular status updates and communicate progress and issues.
- Identify risks to objectives, milestones, timelines and budget, communicate risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Participate in team meetings including: scheduling meetings and generating agendas, preparing presentations, chairing or facilitating meetings, assuring focus on key upcoming deliverables, keeping minutes, identifying action items and assuring execution.
- Document key commitments, changes to the development plan and/or budget, risks/issues.
- Facilitate communications on all of the above to project team, management, and other stakeholders.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Other project and duties as assigned.
- Comply with XOMA policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Education and/or experience:
- BA/BS in a scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Prior project management experience required.
Special skills/knowledge:
- Knowledge of issues associated with biologics drug development.
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with superior organizational skills.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary project teams
- Capable of fostering positive open relationships with internal and external parties.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Project, Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
- Familiarity with project management techniques and applications
