OVERALL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Sr. Director of Investor Relations will be responsible for identifying and developing the corporate investor relations strategy and initiating and managing relationships with the investment community to ensure successful implementation of the corporate strategy and message.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
·         Proactively develops and maintains positive professional relations with the investment community to effectively position the Company products and programs to shareholders, investors, and biotech industry analysts.
·         Responsible for targeting, setting up and scheduling investor meetings (group and one-on-one), conferences, and conference calls.
·         Acts as primary contact with shareholders and the investment community.
·         Coordinates corporate events including Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
·         Develops and disseminates information to the media, research, investment, and business communities.
·         Develops presentations and informational materials for investor and scientific conference presentations.
·         Identifies worthwhile investor and scientific conferences and plans the Company’s participation in same.
·         Develops and manages the issuance of press releases (in accordance with SEC disclosure requirements).
·         Participates in the development and manages the dissemination corporate communications such as investor packets, fact sheets, annual shareholder reports, 10Q’s, 10K, and proxy.
·         Schedules and coordinates Company sponsored webcasts and teleconferences (e.g. quarterly financial results) and develops scripts/presentations for same.
·         Oversees the development and administration of the Company’s website to optimize the website as a corporate communications tool.
 
OTHER DUTIES:
·         Other duties and projects as assigned.
·         Undertake internal control activities to ensure that XOMA’s books and records are valid, accurate, complete, and in conformance with XOMA’s Policies and Procedures.
 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or experience:
·         BA/BS plus 8 plus years related investor relations experience.
·         Minimum of 3 years experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry including understanding and evaluating trends in biotechnology and drug development and effectively positioning the Company with investors and biotech analysts.
·         Experience with developing and maintaining a corporate website.
 
Special skills/knowledge:
·         Needs a comprehensive, current understanding of securities regulations.
·         Ability to interact and work closely with corporate senior management and the management teams of the various functions.
·         Strategic self starter with the ability to interact with shareholders, and investment communities.
·         Must be a self-starter with a poised, professional presence, and outstanding presentations skills.

·         Computer skills should include MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Publishing software, etc.
